11/18/2023 0 Comments Fldigi on raspberry pi![]() ![]() I'm using the IC-7300.xml and the Prolific CI-V cable. Go to Configure and setup Rig Control.Fldigi will be under the Internet Program Group. Search for Fldigi and install the packages you want. ![]() Go to the Raspberry Icon> Preferences> Add/Remove Software Connect your cables to your radio or Signalink.Set the clock to UTC and localisation settings under Preferences and Raspberry Pi Configuration.Run> sudo apt -get update and > sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Raspberry Pi 3, Raspbian, Fldigi, Update, Setup and QSO! If you get a Raspberry Pi 3 and install Raspbian, this is how I installed and setup Fldigi. The Raspberry Pi 3 doesn't take up much room at all! See the photo. I've tried a few applications with it and I'm happy to say that Fldigi runs very well on it. ![]() The one for testing is in my office next to my radio, the Icom IC-7300. DXSpider is running on one of them and the other is used for testing. Use at your own risk and provided “AS_IS.I've been looking for some more things to do with the Raspberry Pi 3. This has been tested on a Raspberry Pi 3 model and takes about 45 minutes to an hour from start to finish depending on how many updates you have to install for the packages as well as how fast your Internet connection is. It was no easy task for me as I am not super savvy with scripting and compiling code, but very exciting to see it being used all over the world. After repeated requests to enhance my first installation script used to install FLDIGI on a Raspberry Pi, I have sat down and focused on updating everything so you get the latest HAMLIB package for rig control etc. Install Script for FLDIGI that includes compiled RigControl HamLibs using version FLDIGI 3.23.13 – BONUS: Verified and tested on Raspberry Pi 3. ![]()
